Post subject: How do I get pgaccess to work with PostgreSQL version 8.3
Archived from groups: mailing>freebsd>ports (more info?)

I'm building a new machine. I have PostgreSQL 9.3 client and server
isntalled and working from ports. But when I try to build pgaccess from
ports, it starts out want to download PostgreSQL version 7.4. Am I suposed
to set an environment variable or something to tell the pgaccess port what
version of the DB I have?

Amarok + postgreSQL version - Hello, I was wondering how (and if) I can select what version of postgreSQL is installed as a dep of amaroK. I'm experimenting with postgres 8.x, and I do not want to run two seperate database backends. By default, postgresql-client-7.4.9 is installed.....

PostgreSQL 8.1 install is missing postgresql.conf - --- To initialize the database, run /usr/local/etc/rc.d/010.pgsql.sh initdb You can then start PostgreSQL by running: /usr/local/etc/rc.d/010.pgsql.sh start For postmaster settings, see ~pgsql/data/postgresql.conf --- So, i followed these..

What is it with PostgreSQL 7.4.x ... ? - Why does it appear that the default postgresql install for everything is stuck at 7.4? I can understand for aolserver/openacs, since it doesn't support 8.x yet ... but, everything? that's like pushing FreeBSD 4.x ... ---- Marc G. Fournier ....
